Take the First Step
Starting an energy community sounds big—but you’re not alone.
Energy Communities
What is it?
An energy community is a group of people—neighbours, friends, local businesses—who come together to build, produce, share, sell, and consume their own renewable energy.
You're building something that lasts, with real value for your community and for yourself.
Members co-own the project, help shape decisions, and enjoy the benefits—lower bills, more jobs, cleaner air.
Together, you generate power—and keep the value in your community.
Why Now?
Governments and the EU are backing Energy Communities like never before, recognizing them as key players for the green transition.
Laws are changing. Funding is growing. It's your time to step in. Energy belongs to everyone.

Thyborøn
A small coastal town in western Denmark, showed what's possible when a community comes together around clean energy. In 2023, local residents raised €22.8 million to fund a 15 MW wind turbine to fund a 15 MW wind turbine —Denmark's largest onshore.
Over 2,800 residents joined the project, and demand for shares was more than double what was available. It's not their only project either—they have completed five successful community-owned renewable energy projects since 1987.
Thyborøn proves that local energy can be built by communities, for communities.
